I Will Kneel Before My God!!!

This Saturday I am getting confirmed into the Catholic Church. It has been a day I have been waiting for since early January 2010. The one thing I have wanted to do from the beginning has been to receive the Eucharist!

The Eucharist is the Real Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. The Eucharist is worthy of worship, praise, adoration and reverence, because the Holy Spirit transforms this bread and wine into Spiritual Food and Drink. The feeding of the 5000 and then the 4000 was a foreshadowing of how Christ was going to feed His entire flock from very little.

Christ was one. but through the Holy Spirit He is able to feed all of us thorough the miracle of the Eucharist. Every week billions of Catholics are fed the spiritual food of the Eucharist, exactly as He did when He fed the multitudes.

Let me ask you something, what would you do if Christ just appeared before you in His glorified body?

Ill tell you what I would do, I would fall to the ground laying prostrate to worship Him. At the absolute least I will fall to my knees and do what the scriptures say in Philippians 2:9-10

“For this reason also, God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus EVERY KNEE WILL BOW, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth,”

Spiritually there is no difference between the Eucharist and Christ, they are the same. So why aren’t more Catholics kneeling and showing reverence to our Lord? Why would they risk desecrating our Lords body when they receive Him on their hand?

I say its because a lot of Catholics do not know that they are in the Presence of the God of the Universe!!! If they realized they were in His presence, my gosh, hearts will change and people will kneel at the sound of His name.

This is why on Saturday I am going to kneel and receive the Body and Blood of Christ in both species (Bread and Wine) of the Eucharist. To show complete and total reverence to our Christ, the Savior of the world. It is the least I can do to show Him I love Him.

  1. I know you...

    Hey Daniel,

I understand this is a blog on your thoughts about God and Religion, but allow me to question you, since the comment section is my spot for my thoughts pertaining to your post.

    Please read:

Romans 5:8-12 (KJV)says (emphasis mine), “But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, CHRIST DIED FOR US. Much more then, being NOW JUSTIFIED by his blood, we shall be SAVED from wrath THROUGH him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by THE DEATH OF HIS SON, much more, being reconciled, we shall be SAVED BY HIS LIFE. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have NOW RECEIVED THE ATONEMENT.”

I am sure you heard of those verses in the Bible in your theology studies. This verse is, quite frankly, VERY CLEAR. God sent Christ to die and deliver us from our sins. Christ ALREADY did that. “It is finished.”

Now, why do you believe that the Eucharist, “spiritual food,” as you call it, should be “worthy of worship, praise, adoration and reverence?”

Taking COMMUNION does not mean you should worship the bread and grape juice (or wine). That’s not what it is for!!

Jesus said it quite clearly in ALL FOUR GOSPELS. Example, LUKE 22:19: “And he took bread, and gave thanks, and brake it, and gave unto them, saying, This is my body which is given for you: THIS DO IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.”

And even 1 Corinthians 11:23, says the same: “And when he had given thanks, he brake it, and said, Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you: THIS DO IN REMEMBRANCE OF ME.”

When we do something to remember (as a memorial) another person, it’s to REMEMBER. We CANNOT and SHOULD NOT RE-sacrifice Jesus. That IS NOT what communion is about. You are not pleasing Jesus Christ by worshiping the Eucharist, which is just matter–bread and drink.

Jesus did not die for us to worship that. He died to SAVE US FROM OUR SINS, not from bread and wine. Or purgatory, for that matter. “IT IS FINISHED.”

    Get that.

My last question, which can be taken rhetorically, is whose doctrine are you following? Why can’t we just follow the SCRIPTURES and DO what IS AUTHORIZED to do? Stop twisting scriptures to please man. Doing Communion should not make you “feel good,” if it does, you are just pleasing man.

Remember, from Genesis to Malachi (the OLD TESTAMENT), nothing was told to be done in remembrance of Christ. But the Gospels and the Epistles (the NEW TESTAMENT), says to REMEMBER CHRIST with a feast (the Lord’s Super).

Take COMMUNION in REMEMBERANCE of CHRIST and for NO OTHER REASON.
